Our Oceans are the most important ecosystem on our planet. How can we use technology to have a positive impact on our environment, cutting out non-biodegradable plastics and reducing invasive species are two important roles that we can play in helping our oceans. In this special two hour program, students will participate in two activities to see how technology can be used to help our oceans.
This program is designed to be incorporated into your lesson plan. KIOSC has pre-work that students should complete before attending and post work for continuing the discussions back at school. Students can access this via the KIOSC Learning Management System (on booking).
Students create bio-plastics from seaweeds and put it through it paces to see if it is a good alternative to our current non-biodegradable range.
AI, Robots and Invasive Species
Students use interactive AI tools to see how machine learning works. They then use this knowledge to design robot functions to identify an endemic species from an invasive species.
