Introduction

Embark on a journey of creativity and design with Tinkercad, a user-friendly 3D design software, where students will transform their ideas into tangible creations. Students will design and personalize a unique keyring, showcasing their design flair and technical skills. Students will test a range of file using Merge Cubes – a 3D augmented reality (AR) tool that allows for better spatial viewing. Further enhancing their CAD prowess , students will explore a pre-made .stl file, delving into the intricacies of 3D modeling and refining understanding of design principles.

Program Overview

This program explores technology and engineering designs in 2 x 90 minute workshops:

1. TinkerCAD

Students will:

• Master the fundamentals of 3D design using Tinkercad’s intuitive interface.
• Develop creativity and problem-solving skills by designing a personalized keyring.

2. Merge and Tinker

Students will:

• Experience the magic of augmented reality by viewing their 3D designs using Merge Cubes.
• Gain proficiency in CAD software by analyzing and modifying a pre-made .stl file.
