Discovery Secondary

Discovery programs are designed to run for a full day (9.30am – 2.30pm). During the day, students in class groups with their teacher rotate through a variety of related learning experiences to investigate overarching inquiry questions. The KIOSC facility and equipment can cater for up to 4 classes per day.

Current Themes relate to critical elements of a sustainable future, and include: Energy, Water, Waste, Biodiversity, The Changing Earth (plate tectonics), Sustainable technologies and Robotics.

The Wildlife of Gondwana (Temporary exhibition till end of Term 3, 2013) provides the focus for a range of explorations into evolution, biodiversity and extinction, plate tectonics, geological and climate changes.

An innovative learning centre that will give students the opportunity to develop the new "green" skills essential for success in the workplace of the future.
