Certificate III in Laboratory Skills

This qualification prepares you for entry to laboratory assistant roles in a range of industries, including health, food, environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical and manufacturing.

The course enables you to develop the practical hands-on skills necessary for jobs in modern work places.

In the first year you will study communication and organisational skills, recording and presenting data, sustainable work practices, workplace safety and laboratory maintenance, and how to take samples and conduct laboratory tests.

In the second year, you will learn aseptic techniques, prepare culture media and working solutions, and perform microscopic examinations.

Certificate III in Laboratory Skills can count towards your VCE ATAR score, or be part of the VCAL Industry Specific Skills strand.
