Certificate II in Engineering Studies

This qualification prepares you for possible future career opportunities in the fields of manufacturing engineering, automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, mechatronics and robotics.

This course is a hands-on project-based course, related to the engineering and manufacture of components, fabrications, assemblies and models.

In the first year you will work with a variety of machines and learn techniques and skills important in engineering. Competencies include using hand and power tools, producing basic engineering sketches and drawings, and handling engineering materials.

In the second year you will enhance your knowledge and practical competency in skills such as cutting, grinding, turning, fabricating and milling. Competencies include creating engineering drawings using computer-aided systems, configuring and programming a basic robotic system, and setting up basic pneumatic circuits.

Certificate II in Engineering Studies can count towards your VCE ATAR score, or be part of the VCAL Industry Specific Skills strand.

Year 1 (Unit 1 & 2) is delivered at KIOSC on Wednesday 12.30pm – 5.30pm

Year 2 (Unit 3 & 4) is delivered at KIOSC on a Wednesday, 12.30pm – 5.30pm
