Certificate II in Electrotechnology
This qualification prepares you for possible future career opportunities in the electrical industry including domestic, residential and heavy industrial areas, providing electrical installation, repair, maintenance, modification and testing of electrical/electronic systems.
Certificate II in Electrotechnology is a practical program based on the application of electrical theory and principle.
In the first year you will learn to dismantle, assemble and fabricate electrotechnology components and solve problems in multi-path DC circuits and single path low voltage circuits.
In the second year you will use the latest technology test, identify and repair equipment faults. You will also undertake a work schedule to select components, accessories or materials to create minimal waste, in the context of providing sustainable domestic energy options. An important part of the course is exploring the opportunities available in the electrotechnology industry, and you will go through the complete process of applying and preparing for getting a job.
Certificate II in Electrotechnology is an advantage in obtaining a full-time apprenticeship in the electrotechnology industry, and also provides a pathway to a diploma or degree in electrical engineering.
Certificate II in Electrotechnology is delivered at KIOSC as one full day each week.
